The purpose of this club is to recruit people for an off-site forum. Joining the off-site forum is not and will not be mandatory. The off-site forum is an RP centered around a fictional continent called Nizark (See Details for more info) populated with furry-like humanoids who were designed and created by dragons and consist of a merge between a human and another mammal. Centuries after their creation, these Kin (so called for their shared ancestry of the human race) have created a variety of subcultures with many unique traditions, foods, and lifestyles.
If you enjoy role playing in a complex, realistic fantasy world, you'll probably enjoy joining this club, and possibly even becoming a citizen of Nizark if it suits your fancy. Everyone is welcome to join!
To check out the off-site forum, go to the Nizark homepage and feel free to browse around!
-=-How to Join-=-
Send a note with "Joining" as the subject title to the club, or reply to this journal to be added to the list of members at the bottom of every journal. If you become accepted as a member, expect to receive a note or reply of confirmation (depending on your method of requesting membership).
-=-How to Submit Artwork-=-
If you are a member, you may have specific works of related art posted in the club on request. Simply send a note entitled "Submission" with a link to the original. You will receive all due credit, and a link to the original will be provided in the club submission. Art must have relevance to Nizark. See Is My Art Nizark Themed? for a more detailed description of what constitutes relevant art.
-=-Updates-=-
We have a new member. Other than that, the RP forum is moving along somewhat sluggishly.
-=-Details-=-
Nizark - a fictional continent existing on a fictional planet which is as-of-yet unnamed, but essentially a twin of Earth. Flora and fauna from earth have migrated to this planet through a portal which occurs at irregular intervals at different locations on earth. Before Nizark was thus populated, it was a vast prairie with patches of desert and small mountains.
Dragons, fairies, elemental sprites, djinns, and various micro-organisms lived there previously, but have since moved overseas onto a different continent which is quite far away. An energy exists there which is intangible to those not born on the planet. It has the capacity to change elemental properties of atoms and re-arrange them. We shall call it magic.
There are two node centers of this energy on Nizark, both with severe effects on time and hormonal levels in plants and animals. These areas have been walled off by humans who lived here long ago, but have since either died off or been merged into animals by draconian scientists to form kin.
Kin - a classification of species which are a magical merging of humans and various pawed mammals. The characteristics they have in common is that they walk upright, possess two nipples, four limbs, a tail, a head, possess human intelligence affected by animal instincts, use language (verbal or non-verbal) and establish cultures which are either social or antisocial, depending on species.
All kin have two forms of equal mass: quadruped and biped. In the quadruped form, all mass and basic characteristics remain the same, the only change is bone and musculature structure necessary to accommodate for walking on all fours rather than erect, and many senses are lightly enhanced.
-=-Is My Art Nizark Themed?-=-
Since Nizark is far from mainstream, it is not expected that you will already know what the continent or the creatures on it are like. This section is designed to tell you. It is divided up by subject: Kin, Dragons, Fairies, Elemental Sprites, and Djinns.
Kin - Not all furries are kin. Although artist's have free license over their interpretation of an anthropomorphic mammal, it is something like making chocolate chip cookies in that you can add nuts if you like, but if you use M&M's or raisins instead of chocolate chips it may still be a cookie and it may still taste good, but it is not a chocolate chip cookie. Here are a few rules of thumb to follow:
>If the fur is a color unnatural to the animal and has not been dyed that way, such as a blue fox or a pink otter, that furry is not a kin.
>If the person is simply a human with the ears, tail, or even paws of a given animal, that is not a kin.
>If the humanoid is covered in fur with the head and tail of an animal, hands covered in fur save flesh pads to allow for grip, walks upright, may or may not have head hair, and is dressed in a style appropriate to the means if his or her culture, congratulations: he or she is a kin!
Dragons - The very first intelligent beings who lived on Nizark were dragons. They were once the dominant species. Later, a plane crashed on the shore and humans came out. These humans were turned into kin in an attempt to pacify the threat of humans taking over the continent, but this simply confused things until, being the half humans they were, the kin took over the continent anyway. Dragons were therefore forced to live elsewhere. Thus, if you happen to see a dragon on Nizark, he or she is probably lost or confused.
If you do see a dragon on Nizark, here is a summary of what you would likely see:
Long, serpentine body with spines on the head, fin-like wings designed for gliding, a tail tipped with a ball of bone large enough to be used as a blunt weapon but small enough to not get in the way, and four legs resembling those of a bird of prey, minus the feathers.
Fairies - On Nizark there do happen to be a rare and elusive population of beings called fairies. They live off of dewdrops and sunshine, range from two inches to six, become invisible for short amounts of time, and when visible glow. As to their appearance, they actually do not have a set appearance, but rather appear as a naked, ideal version of whatever looks upon them. As for behavior, they enjoy stealing shiny things and trinkets, but for the last thousand years have abandoned most of Nizark to live in the nodes, where they feel most at home.
Elemental Sprites - These never really leave the nodes anymore, but if you do see them they'll look like whatever they feel like looking like as long as it makes sense to their element. Forget the four elements, these sprites are associated with the elements from the Periodic Table of Elements (such as carbon, copper, or helium), and occasionally with substances with very simple molecular structures such as water. Sprites communicate with clicks and dances, and if you dance for them they might decide they like you. If somebody attacks you and they see it, they'll attack them . . . and sprites, as harmless as they generally act what with spending all their time frolicking around or sleeping, will defend what they like with all the fury of nature.
Djinns - Djinns are about as intelligent as kin, but their intelligence is different and therefore comes off as something other than intelligence. Also, they rarely display their intellectual capacity as their primary motive in life is pleasure, and doing smart things doesn't bring them a whole lot of pleasure. As beings in their natural state they look like a serpent composed of smoke, but as vaporous beings can present them selves as anything of any size, although their colors remain the same regardless of the shape they choose to take. Each djinn has a maximum of three basic colors, generally vivid in nature.

But you did answer the question. If I were to invite you I'd do it from this account, not my regular account.
